DEUTSCHLAND

The Germany v. Argentina game today was unreal. The Germans demolished the Argentinian side with a score of 4-0.

After losing the English early on, I'd like to give my full support to the Germans. It doesn't hurt that I may have fallen in love with Klose and Mueller.

I better find your loving, I better find your heart

Spent the morning at work watching the South Africa v. Mexico game. Amazingly fell in love with Mexico's kit. Started watching the France v. Uruguay game at work, continued at Churchill afterwards. World Cup is in full swing and work will be a magical place for the next month.

Speaking of work, we filmed a one-minute short to promote the use of social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter) within the government of Canada, and specifically the SCCY. It was fun. I played a youth getting a construction job. Didn't really look the part, but we're all about diversity and equal opportunity.

In other news, looking forward to the England v. USA game tomorrow. Reppin' my roots and cheering for England.

They'll call me freedom

We started a World Cup pool at work today in preparation for tomorrow. The way we are doing ours is we chose 16 teams that we think will advance out of this round. We get a point for each correct pick. After that we'll pick the winner of each match in the next round. Two points for each of those correct picks. It continues in such a fashion. I'm pretty excited as I feel this will get me more interested in the World Cup.

Aside from that fun, life's been a bit blah. My grandmother is in the hospital and goes in for surgery possibly on Monday. She just turned 81.

You must hate money

Seasons Greetings!

So Christmas has come and gone for another year. This Christmas was considerably different from any other I've experienced. My parents (Santa) are paying for my grad ring, so there was very little under the tree for me. No complaints, it was just different. Although I did get the raincoat I asked for from my uncle (mom's side) (it's MEC!) and a lovely jersey sheet set from my aunt and uncle (on dad's side). My mom's brother also sent the family a Wii and Wii fit. We spent today playing it. Lots of hilarity occured.

Tomorrow I'm playing indoor soccer in the Angel's Charity Soccer Tournament, or whatever it is called. I'm pretty excited. I haven't played indoor since high school. It'll be a long day though, 11-7.

Other than that, not much is going on for me. Morgan gets home soon and it's really all that's been keeping me sane and happy since getting home.

I think that's all for now.

The more things change, the more they stay the same

Reading through old Livejournal posts, spurred on by Kyle, I have come to realize that almost all I ever talked about was soccer. To be fair, all I ever did was play soccer.

An exerpt from August 1, 2004:

"This weekend has been devoted to soccer. Story of my life. We won the tournament. Three tournaments, three gold medals. I got a goal on a penalty shot yesterday to beat Halifax County 1-0. I got a free kick in this morning against Halifax County again to give us the 1-0 win. Then I got another free kick in in the gold medal game against West Prince, so we won 1-0. That brings me up to nine goals this season. For a sweeper I'd say that's pretty good."

I forgot that I lead my team for scoring that year. Sweepers usually do that, yes?
