Skim milk, fat, you're not
Remember when Napoleon Dynamite was all the rage and everyone quoted it non-stop and thought it was hilarious?
yeah, it's on tv right now. I don't think it's been long enough for it to make a comeback already.

Weather cocks
Even though it's obviously a middle-aged woman kind of movie, I loved Morning Glory tonight.

The sky is the limit
HJ and I watched The Darjeeling Limited tonight and I couldn't shake the feeling that there are people in my life that remind me of the characters in the movie.
Would recommend.

I'll never be the same if we ever meet again
Moncton was a really good time. It was nice to see my NB and NS colleagues and I actually got some really positive feedback from the regional consultant. Went to supper with NM, a fellow Kine grad and close friend. Also went to see Salt.
I highly DO NOT recommend Salt. Horrible movie.
And as lame as it is, I miss my boyfriend already.
FRIDAY is MONTREAL.

Alpha Mike Foxtrot
Lucas and I went to see the A-Team movie last night. I'm too young to have ever experienced the television show, but man did I love the movie. It certainly didn't hurt that Liam Neeson and Bradley Cooper starred in the film.
I think I have a thing for older men. First Sean Connery, and now Liam Neeson...

Er, scratch that. I know I have a thing for older men.

When you see my face I hope it gives you Hell
Last night Ryan, Lucas and I went to see Macgruber. Honestly, the only thing I knew about the movie in advance (aside from a friend saying he liked it) was that the main character has a mullet.
So we arrive with a few moments to spare, get in line, and then the most ridiculous thing happens. I get ID'd. At the movies. I had been out to two different bars the night before and didn't get ID'd at either, but the lady selling movie tickets thought I was too young to see an R-rated movie.
The movie was actually hilarious. I liked it, which surprised me. Some stuff made me queasy, like the long sequence of trying to get a bullet out of Macgruber's leg, but overall it was just all laughs.

I'm Um from Umbridge
Went to see Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland this afternoon with Carlye and her friend Trisha. It was really good. Helena Bonham Carter is absolutely wonderful as the Red Queen. Johnny Depp is eccentric and obviously perfect for the role of Hatter. The girl who plays Alice, whose name escapes me at the moment, did a great job. The only person that I did not enjoy was Anne Hathaway. I never like her. Go see the movie!

I saw you headed for a fall, I was the one that made the call
Alicia and I went to see Leap Year tonight, starring Amy Adams and some hot Irish-man. Better than expected, not great cinema. That about sums it up. A few great laughs along the way. One laugh was even unrelated to the movie entirely. Alicia and I were alone in the theatre, except for one couple, and they decided to make out for most of the movie. And not quietly, I might add. I would have somewhat understood if they were teenagers, but they were obviously pushing thirty-plus. I know it was a romantic comedy, but at no point was I so enamoured with the movie that I felt the need to stick my tongue down Alicia's throat. I imagine more people would have shown up to view that though (the theatre must have lost a lot of money showing a movie to 4 people - especially since Alicia and I had coupons for free tickets).
There's not really much left to talk about 'cause there's no more us
My sociology professor was in Toronto this week for a conference, so in lieu of a 3 hour class we watched Boys Don't Cry today (starring Hilary Swank as Brandon Teena - or Teena Brandon depending on how you look at it). The movie is based on a true story, obviously, and it was pretty clear how it was going to turn out. I wasn't surprised, but it was still extremely sad. Kind of like when the Titanic goes does in the movie - you know it's going to happen but you're still telling them to look out for the iceberg. The movie tied in well with my human sexuality class. Yesterday we had a male to female post-op transexual come in to talk to the us. I cannot imagine having to go through all of that to feel comfortable in my own skin. I have it so easy and I definitely take it for granted.

I know you can save me
I went to dinner with a few friends from my summer job tonight, Holly and Mandy. I spent 8 hours a day, 5 days a week with them, and haven't seen much of either since September. It was nice to see both and catch up. We went to Estia and shared the greek nachos, which I highly recommend. I get them every time.
After supper I met up with Carlye and we went to see When In Rome, the Kristen Bell movie. In all honesty, we chose it because it seemed like a stupid chick flick. In truth, it was, but it was a lot better than expected. There were a lot of hilarious parts. And, my personal fave, lots of awkward parts. Plus, my great love of Kristen Bell didn't hurt the movie's chances either.
May attend girls' night tomorrow and see The Lovely Bones. Not sure if I want to ruin my memories of the book by seeing it though. Other option is spending the night with Ange and Robin and watching a comedy. Leaning toward the latter.

I went to see Invictus tonight. It's really good and I highly recommend. I'm such a sucker for a sports movie.
